PANDORA SHINE Collection Overview and Introduction

Today the new Pandora Shine collection is launching worldwide and we can finally tell you about it! Pandora has been very careful about this launch, but now that everything is officially known, we will bring you a detailed description of this line with all the necessary HQ photos and comments!

For those who don’t already know, Pandora Shine is a new line of 18k gold plated jewelry that will be available as part of the Pandora Spring 2018 collection.

In April, a few more copies will be released with the Mother’s Day 2018 collections.

Pandora Shine — Overview

Pandora Shine is Pandora’s first major new concept since the launch of the Pandora Rose line back in 2014, which is why it has had such a huge marketing campaign that involved bloggers, a myriad of promos and ads. To begin with, the collection will only be sold in concept stores and online.

Shine Jewelry is 925 sterling silver plated with 18k gold. Externally, they will be very different from the existing Pandora line of solid 14K gold, and will also be less yellow live.

The coating consists of several layers — the highest standard silver is covered with palladium, and then with a very thick layer of 18-carat gold.

Bracelets Pandora Shine

Bracelet Pandora Smooth Bracelet is the closest thing to a traditional Pandora charm bracelet — it doesn’t have threads, so you’ll need silicone-lined clips or rubber inserts underneath to keep your beads in place.

Sliding bracelet has a great finish. We’d love to use it for a mini bee design in Shine!

We love this bangle bracelet with heart shaped clasp — the contrast between the metals looks great.

Bracelet Honeybee — the only version of the bracelet not for charms, and it will be released, unfortunately, in a limited version.

Charms Pandora Shine

One piece of jewelery featured extensively in Pandora’s pre-release campaign is the pendant. Queen Beeand you can see why — she’s beautifully detailed, striking and yet very cute with her crushed heart detail. In addition, the motif of the queen bee plays pretty well with the idea of female empowerment, which is currently one of the main places in the Pandora marketing campaign — «do celebrate, do shine, do Pandora» (English — «celebrate, shine, be with Pandora).

Luckily, Heart and Bee free of all sorts of enameled details or glitter, and we really like the dangling bee detail. This bead is one of our favorites but would like to know if it is actually threaded.

This openwork bead may become our favorite bee jewelry and we think it would look great with Enchanted Garden Glass Murano glass.

Charm Golden Honey offers a beautiful combination of colors. As we have said many times, we like enameled details in jewelry if they are of high quality, and this amber enamel looks like a real honeycomb.

Honeycomb Lace loosely related to other jewelery themes of this line, solely due to the detailing in the form of honeycombs.

Finally, for the charms of this line, we have Sweet as Honey. Of course, we would have preferred it without the inlaid stones on the shackle and beehive, and, most likely, the small bee-shaped detail could have been made more visible so that it stood out more against this decoration, for example with the help of black enameled stripes.

Looking through the factory images, you may not have noticed that the golden swirls of the beehive surround the tiger’s eye stone in the center of the charm, and it looks quite dainty.

With this first collection, Pandora has been careful to select motifs and concepts that are actively complemented and enhanced by gold metal – in addition to honeycombs and bumblebees, we have two solar-themed charms. Tracery Rays of Sunshine combines «warm» yellow enamel and stones.

You are my Sunshine, with a cute inscription on the back. The inlaid stones on the shackle seem redundant, but in general, this jewelry leaves a pleasant impression.

There is only one charm in the Pandora Shine collection from Murano glass, offering a swirling white glass design. The combination of white and gold not only looks great, but is also quite versatile.

Charm Filled with Romance is one of our favorite Pandora heart ornaments and we have it in Silver and Rose versions!

The only safety chain in Shine available at launch is this clasp Logo. It has a silicone lining which should be effective on a Shine bracelet Smooth Moments.

The clip Shining Elegance has a silicone pad inside and it will work well on any of the three Shine charm bracelets above.

There are also two regular clips, however you will need silicone inserts to use them with any of Shine’s bracelets as neither of them has threads which seems a little odd. We were surprised not to see the traditional clasp bracelet at Pandora Shine.

We’re glad they included a simple clip in Shine, with no extra inlays, but it would be nice to see something that doesn’t display the Pandora brand so much. A simple ball clip, perhaps in the shape of a honeycomb, would be a great addition to the overall «bee» motif!

Golden Pavé Ball has many different small details where stones of different sizes and colors are combined.

Finishing off with charms, we have a mini bee for medallions. We’re not sure about the idea of wearing a little bee in a locket — it might look like a real insect!

Jewelry Pandora Shine

Charm Rays of Sunshine has a matching pendant — it’s very large and probably better suited for a necklace than a bracelet.

There is also a hanging Honeycomb Lace.

A simple Shine chain would be a great addition to the above pendants.

The chain length of this necklaces is 45 cm, but can be adjusted to 42 cm or 38 cm.

Choker Honeybee has a limited edition. It’s beautiful, but chokers go in and out of fashion all the time.

Ring Honeycomb Lace, like his sister, is a very bright thing. Although not everyone likes massive rings, it is very pleasant to look at!

Ring Honeybee — another piece of limited edition jewelry, and another piece from the «bee» collection that looks incredibly good. The shape of the honeycomb ring is incredibly beautiful!

Based on the factory images, we are not sure of the strong contrast between the yellow stone and gold metal in this ring.

Enchanted Crown will be released this spring in Rose and Silver.
