Before cleaning, degrease the pendant with any detergent. Treat curls, depressions and bulges with a toothbrush. And that’s it, you can already use the methods that will be discussed further.

How to clean a silver pendant with hydrogen peroxide?

Peroxide can eliminate the blackening of silver or, on the contrary, intensify it.

This happens because oxygen atoms interact differently with silver alloys.

Before you clean the silver with a stone and completely treat the product with peroxide, try to treat the inside of the pendant or the clasp. If it has turned white, carefully apply the solution to all the jewelry with a cotton sponge.

How to clean a silver pendant with minimal costs?

1. baking soda

This method is only suitable for small pendants. Scratches are possible, which will be very noticeable on large jewelry.

Mix baking soda with water to the consistency of gruel, which you apply to the surface of the product with a soft cloth or toothbrush. Rinse it with water and wipe with a dry cloth.

2. Salt (ordinary kitchen or extra fine — it doesn’t matter)

Pour salt into a pan with a bottom covered with foil. Add some water. Put the decoration there and boil for 10 minutes. Then — rinse well under the tap and dry completely.

3. Ammonia (rubbing alcohol)

Immerse the pendant for 15 minutes in a solution of ammonia and water in a ratio of 1:10. If the pollution is strong, then for 30-60 minutes, but no more. Wipe slightly darkened jewelry with a moistened cotton pad. Then the silver should be washed and dried.

4. Citric acid or vinegar

Dilute 100 g of acid in 0.5 l of water. Solution in a water bath for 15-30 minutes, placing a pendant in it. Then — wash and dry the product.

5. Coca-Cola

For such a method as cleaning a silver pendant with Coca-Cola, the price is acceptable. You need to pour a little drink into the container and lower the silverware into it. After 12 hours, the jewelry will look and shine like new.

6. toothpaste

Smooth accessories are wiped with a napkin with toothpaste, and embossed ones with a soft-bristled brush. But the paste must be without sodium, aggressive additives and dyes, so that the impurities react a little with the metals that are added to silver for strength. To prevent the formation of a white coating, after cleaning, rinse the products thoroughly and polish with a soft cloth.
